One of our most common customer questions is "What should I wear to the speed-dating event?", or "What is the recommended dress code?".

Our standard reply is (and this is in our FAQs) is:
"Wear whatever you would feel comfortable in if you were with friends going to a bar or restaurant in Chicago"

However, as we review customer comments (and we have literally tens of thousands of these), our opinion has changed somewhat.   People do notice how you are dressed, and given that the date is quite short, this becomes one of the more important things about you that they do notice. 

So our suggestion would be to err on the side of being too well-dressed.  It doesn't mean a suit (unless you're coming from work to a weekday event, which many people do), but we would recommend against jeans and a t-shirt.   Being well-presented in every way, including how you dress, is a big step towards getting more matches with those you selected.
